Cooking without a disaster

It's no secret that I don't cook. I don't like to do it, I don't have the space, and I don't have the patience. On Monday, Joe-sensei talked me into buying vegetables and fish, and told me how I can cook it in my rice maker.
I was skeptical at first, seeing as how I've never put anything except rice in there, but I went shopping and bought what he suggested. I'm still learning what vegetables taste good together, so I went with brocolli and mushrooms.
Unlike pan cooking, I didn't burn ANYTHING at all! In fact, everything came out cooked and tasty! I was actually able to cook 2 separate servings because it was so easy to do! I felt very accomplished over such a simple thing.
Other teachers have been sending me suggestions on what to try next!

Working with stars
For one of my summer classes, we dabbled a bit with constellations, basically "stars that make a picture". It's kind of like connect-the-dots, though with a bit of imagination involved.
We decided to turn the kids into constellations, by making poses and creating a general shape using stars.
Most of the them made fairly simple poses, so we had to get creative with the constellations:

Some of the students to decided to toss in a silly face, though it wasn't something that could be made with stars, haha.

All in all, everyone made a pretty unique constellation (and funny as well). Maybe someday we can find their shapes up in space!
