Oh Baby Part 2

I'm having a baby! And it's going to be a baby girl!

We decided on a name. In Filipino culture you get two first names. Her name will be Hanabi (花火) Hope. We wanted her first name to be something Japanese because my wife and I met in Japan. My wife thought Hanabi was a good name, because fireworks are beautiful, so we decided to name her Hanabi and I suggested Hope as her second first name because we were really hoping for a baby girl. So Hanabi Hope will be her name. I really love her name, I think it's cute!

I'm really excited to finally share this with all of you! thanks for reading! :)

Oh Baby

I hope everyone had a good fathers day! Since it has been a while since I taught a class, I wanted to share something that some of my former students may enjoy hearing:

For my birthday this year I got a special gift. I don't get to see if for nine months because it is growing, but it is already the best birthday gift I have ever gotten. Can you guess what it is?

It's a baby!

That's right, I'm going to have a baby! Be sure to read next week to learn the gender.

Swimming

It's getting warm outside here in Idaho. My apartment has a pool I think I'm going to get out and go swimming. It would be fun to spend time with my family in the pool, then to have dinner around the fire pit at my apartment! Are you excited for summer?

It is still cold here in Idaho. I miss the warmer springs in Japan and the cherry blossoms. Have you gone to look at the cherry blossom trees?

To the USA part 2

I was so exciting landing in America. It was my wife's first time and it was a lot of work to get here. When we landed my wife had a final interview and was welcomed into Seattle. We had a four hour layover then we were off to Spokane Washington where we could drive to my home.

Thank you!

I can hardly believe that I’ve lived in the Philippines for six months! It has been an amazing experience. I got to meet new people, try new things, and my family has gotten so big! I’m really glad I came here. But it’s time for my wife and I to focus on our future. That meant we are going to America. Sadly that means my time teaching is at and end.

I have loved working at Gem school and meeting all of you! I will still be working behind the scenes with Gem school, and you may even see some blogs from me in the future. But I won’t be working with you all the same way I have been up until now. I want to thank all of my students for joining my classes. It has been such a pleasure to meet you all, to laugh, and to learn. The last five years with Gem school have been some of the best years of my life. Whether it was water fights at the Gem BBQ, wrestling before bed at summer tour, or just playing in class, I have made so many amazing memories with each of you. Most recently, I’ve gotten to have fun teaching at Gem Cyber school. I’ve really enjoyed laughing with you all and sharing parts of my life in the Philippines with you. I wish each of you the best, please keep studying and doing your best to learn English. Who knows, I may even see you in America!

While I’m sad to say goodbye, I know each of my students will go onto do great things and I’m so excited for you all! Thank you all again!

While we were relaxing, my uncle gave me a coconut so I could drink some fresh coconut juice. It was delicious! But I couldn't finish it all because the coconut was so big!
