Flamingos in Kochi

Hello Everyone It's Teacher Bear! 日本 くま

During my travels, I had lots of fun and visited memorable, beautiful, and unforgettable places on Shikoku Island. One of the last stops I made was a Zoo in Kochi, where they had a variety of animals. Being a small Zoo, I thought the place would have a limited number of animals, but it was great to see the King of the Jungle, the funny Chimpanzees, and the elegant Flamingos. Just take a look at this gorgeous photo below.

Temple #15 Awa Kokubunji

Hello Everyone It's Teacher Bear! 日本 くま

I've been off for a couple of days now and I've been able to visit wonderful places here on the island of Shikoku. Shikoku is highly underrated as I believe many foreigners think that Japan is only famous places such as Tokyo, Osaka, etc... However, Shikoku to me represents nature and old traditions. It is so majestic and, as I described before, feels like a dream/Storybook fairy tale. I digress yesterday I went to fill out my Shikoku Henro book in Tokushima. Below is Temple #15 in Awa Kokubunji Tokushima yes there is a Kokubunji in Tokushima as well.

Back to "The Town Above the Clouds" In Yusuhara, Kochi

Hello Everyone! It's Teacher Bear 日本 くま

During my break, I had the opportunity to return to the South of Shikoku Island. Kochi brought us to a magical, divine, rustic, yet refined town known as "The Town Above the Clouds". Yusuhara Town is known for its unique landscape on top of the mountains inspired by the Meiji Restoration and some of the most important and influential Samurais of their times in Shikoku Island. These Samurai Legends are Sakamoto Ryoma, Sawamura Sounojo, Nasu Shunpei, and his son Shingo. Furthermore, there is Yoshimura Torataro, Maeda Shigema, and Nakahira Ryunosuke. Their contribution to the Meiji Restoration says it all! If you feel inspired and truly want to experience something unique. Please go to "The Town Above the Clouds" Yusuhara!

Iconic Places in Tokyo part 1

Hello Everyone It's Teacher Bear! くま 日本

Last month, I had the opportunity to visit Tokyo for the second time, and as always, it felt magical and breathtaking. It was again an unforgettable experience that made me want to stroll through the beautiful streets of this iconic megalopolis. Of course! I saw the most iconic places but it was your favorite video game franchise Square-Enix that stole the show. If you are as old as I am and grew up playing RPG (Role Playing Games) you will immediately recognize this iconic company and the franchise that it produces "Final Fantasy". I was truly honored to have visited such a spectacular nostalgic site. My eyes were a bit watery from the nostalgia it made me feel. Please visit it if you can the building is a masterpiece!

See you all later!

Hello Everyone it's Teacher Bear! Here with another blog just for you! 日本 くま

Last week, I found this gem at a convenience store, a honey whip croissant featuring none other than Mikazuki Munechika from Touken Ranbu! It’s part of the 10th-anniversary celebration for the franchise.

The croissant itself looks so tempting, soft, golden, and filled with a sweet honey whip. Honestly, I couldn’t resist grabbing it when I saw the beautifully designed packaging. The first bite? Pure heaven. The honey whip filling is creamy and just the right amount of sweet. A perfect snack, I highly recommend checking this out. It was delicious and it doesn’t get better than this. Until next time, happy snacking with Teacher Bear くま

Unpenji Temple #66 of Shikoku Pilgrimage

Hello Everyone It's Bear Sensei! Here is another blog just for you!

As previously posted I am a man who loves culture and traditions. This week I had the opportunity to visit the 66th temple of the Shikoku pilgrimage named Unpenji Temple some people go to see the gorgeous Autumn Leaves and pray. The prefix name of the temple is "Kyogozan" because the mountain resembles a sleeping giant turtle. Another fact about Unpenji temple is that it has the highest altitude of all the 88 temples in Shikoku located 900m above sea level. The temple also showcases a beautiful forest filled with Gingko trees. If you love culture and traditions like I do and want to see autumn leaves, you should visit the Unpenji temple in Tokushima prefecture. Well, that's all for this week's blog until next time!
