Little Artists in Training
Last Saturday, I thought I'd try out a new craft in my Homestay Class in Shikokuchuo. I was reading online about how to make home-made play dough using only a few basic ingredients with no cooking required. It seemed like a fun (and messy!) idea that was worth a try. As an "art person" I like any opportunity to get my hands dirty and create something. I think most people today could use a healthy dose of creativity and everyone deserves a chance to know how awesome it feels to make something using only your hands; hence my messy Saturday!!
If you want to make your own no-cook play dough, all you need is a few simple things:
-water
-flour
-cooking oil (I used vegetable oil)
-salt
-optional food coloring (for dough color) and glitter (to make things fancy!!)

-sidenote: I couldn't find food coloring, so our dough was just white, but that didn't stop us from making really cool things!)
If you have time, and maybe an adult to help you mix ingredients, you should definitely try and make some of your own play dough! Shaping something with your own two hands is really a cool feeling and a neat way to exercise different parts of your brain! Go be creative! Make something!!
