In early February each year in Matsuyama, people come to the Tsubaki Jinja (shrine) to celebrate the Tsubaki Matsuri. I wasn`t able to go during the most lively part of the celebration which happens at nighttime, but I still enjoyed taking a trip out there during the day to visit the shrine during the matsuri season. There were tons of stalls and plenty of people coming to pray at the shrine. If you`re in Matsuyama at this time, you should check it out!
