The Ultimate Sakura Guide: Kochi
Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a fantastic sakura season! For this month I wanted to compile all my favorite spots for cherry blossoms in Shikoku, starting off with the prefecture that begins blooming first: Kochi!
First up is Makino Park! Makino park is great place to walk around and explore and there are even food stalls if you need to grab a bite.

Next we have the famous Makino botanical garden. The Makino botanical garden is beautiful in all seasons, but I really wanted to see it during sakura seasons. It doesn`t have too many cherry blossom trees, but it`s still worth a visit- and you can see lots of other types of flowers as well! They also have special night illuminations during cherry blossom season, which I haven`t been to myself but sounds really interesting.

This year I checked out a new spot in Kochi famous for the Hyotan Sakura. The Hyotan sakura is a 500 year old cherry blossom tree that sits in a beautiful mountain spot. Make sure to drive up and down the correct path for safe travel!

Although technically not cherry blossoms, Kochi has a lot of super beautiful, vibrant peach blossoms. Last year I went to Flower land park/Hana no sato koen for one of the most spectacular views of my life.

This year I checked out the peach blossoms on Hikichi Bridge, which is a little bit smaller but still extremely beautiful.

I also went to see the peach blossoms in Kuki district. This one takes the cake- not only were the peach and cherry blossoms beautiful, but the fields were also full of canola flowers, daffodils, and even some huge carp streamers. The road to get there is a bit narrow, so be careful, but it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.
