Christmas is almost here!
I love Christmas.
We put up our little Christmas tree in our living room. I buy a new ornament for every year that we've been married so we can have a token of each Christmas spent together. The first one is my favorite. It's a little tanuki ornament for our first Christmas in Japan together.
Since my husband is from Peru we have different Christmas traditions. For him, Christmas should be celebrated on December 24th with family, friends, food, presents, and fireworks at midnight. Latin Americans stay up super late on Christmas Eve partying. So my husband and I make traditional chicken sandwiches, soup, hot chocolate and paneton (fruit cake). No fireworks though. haha My family has always celebrated Christmas on the morning of the 25th. My mom always makes cinnamon rolls, fruit, cheese, and coffee for breakfast. So my husband and I make the same breakfast and open presents after. The holidays really center around food for me. :)
What are your traditions? Have you accumulated any traditions from other cultures?
