In a Pickle

I’m sure you have eaten pickles before but have you ever been in a pickle? “Of course not!” you say. But actually, you probably have! You see, being “in a pickle” is another one of our odd English idioms. As you might have just guessed, it doesn’t literally mean being inside of a pickle. Instead, it means being in a difficult situation. I think most people have been in difficult situations before so most people have, in fact, been “in a pickle.” If for example, someone locks their keys in their car they would be in a pickle. They need their keys to open the door to get their keys! What a pickle! There are many opportunities to use this phrase and certainly, if you ever find yourself trapped inside of a vinegar-soaked vegetable, you could say, “Well, this is a pickle!”

I met a skeleton. I made it out ok.

A went to Tokushima with friends. Have you heard of Airsoft? It's a game with toys that look like guns, but they are safe to hit people with. The bullets are plastic and are much slower.

These people were really into it. You can spend a lot of money, I guess. Almost 40 people, all of them with cool gear, guns, and outfits to look scary or funny. It looked like a lot of fun, but expensive.

It was a fun day trip with some very good friends of mine.

Would you ever play a game like this? What's the most you would spend? When you see me, please tell me.

Till next time,
Joe
