You know something I tend to have trouble with? Writing letters to people. Even before the internet made it easier to communicate to people, I never seemed to know what to put in a letter, somehow even especially to people I don't speak to often. I guess it's mostly because I don't know how to talk about myself, and the things that I do. I guess I feel the person receiving the letter wouldn't be very interested (which is quite a silly thing to think).
Anyway, I believe it's because of this that I also have trouble writing in Christmas cards to family. Again, it's partly because we now have the internet, so if I want to tell them something, I can do so very easily (not that I do it often enough). But another thing is that it is mostly sent for Christmas in particular. Of course you can say "Merry Christmas", but most likely you will have that being said on the card itself (especially if you are the type to send a funny/cute/interesting card with words on it).
I think I lucked out this year, though, because I found a cute card which I can insert a photo into. I'm sure we can get those anywhere, but the reason I thought this was good now is because before, I had no reason to take nice pictures for the holidays (okay, not no reason, I just never put in the effort). But now that I am married, I know a very good photo of the two of us is exactly the kind of thing my family, in particular my mother, would enjoy receiving. I probably still wouldn't write much, but as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, so hopefully I don't have to say much, haha.
