Last weekend I took the time again to go exploring the mountain passes around Saijo in my GEM school car. I'm lucky enough to be able to use the car for enjoyment and not just work, which is awesome . :)

Anyway, this time we headed up past Minetopia Besshi. I took a few pictures there, but nothing too special. We walked around a little and enjoyed the scenery, but quickly decided that we needed to keep going up the mountain.

As we climbed we ran into some snow that had fallen a few days before. It was really cold!! I took a few pictures of a partially frozen lake.

On the way back down, I spotted a small statue by the roadside and had to take a picture. We also stopped by the side of the road and walked down an abandoned path, where I found the "wreath" and the tatami mats that had been abandoned. It was very sad.

I love doing this stuff.
