So there are a lot of professional sports in the world. Tennis, soccer, football are just a few that make the list, but to hear of such a thing as professional badminton was something that took me by surprise. When I came to Japan a few of my kid students and a lot of my adults told me that they play badminton and I thought that sounds like a very relaxing activity, Then they dropped the bomb on me saying that it's a professional sport in Japan (and probably a few other countries). I still have yet to see how they play on a professional level but when I think of badminton I think of a leisurely, relaxing Sunday afternoon playing a nice game of badminton with friends and family.
