Back to School Again
I grew up going to public school. Even though my mother had many complaints about the school system, it wasn't a bad place to go to. The education I got there wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. But the school system in America has changed a lot since I was a kid. School isn't a safe place to go to anymore, and students have to practice active shooter drills. Children are taught strange things, and the value of the education they get as a whole has decreased.
Luckily, in America nowadays there are many choices parents have on how to educate their children. I could have sent my children to a private school, but those are very expensive. Instead, I decided to homeschool my children. So I taught my children at home. I was allowed to pick any curriculum I wanted to use to teach my children. As long as we had a certain number of school days per year, we were allowed to have school whichever days we wanted. We were also allowed to have school whichever hours of the day we wanted to. My children of course were allowed to wear anything I allowed them to, and sometimes they would do school that day in their pajamas!

My friend is a very talented artist, and she made an art curriculum video series for kids. This is a picture of my kids starting one of the lessons.
Having the freedom to have school whichever day we wanted was really nice! We could go on vacation whenever we felt like. I miss having that flexibility! I liked being able to spend more time with my children, too. But I am very satisfied with my children's education at our local public school here in Japan, and I am happy they can go there now.
Would you ever want to try homeschooling, or to be homeschooled?
