Winter Fatigue

Yikes! I'm starting to feel run down by all this cold weather! I'm from Florida (U.S.A.) where the weather is quite similar to Okinawa. It always takes me awhile to adjust to colder climates. I know for some people every winter can be a rather grueling experience. Studies say that some people can experience "Winter Blues" or sadness. During winter some people have said to feel difficulty sleeping, fatigue, and loss of interest in everyday activities.
To maintain my peace of mind I've picked up a few tricks to fight off the Winter Blues. For one, I try and resolve to read a new or used book and let the story take my mind off the weather. Second, exercise is my instant mood enhancer. I like doing moderate exercises like going for a brisk walk or doing workout videos. Third, when simple tasks seem hard I try and resolve to do a task a day. One day I focus on laundry another I focus on dusting and cleaning all the floors. If things are done little by little in no time the house will look just as sparkling as it did in the summer! Lastly, I try to make a list of things that make me happy! When I start feeling down I just go to my computer and read my Thankful List on my desktop. It puts things in perspective and gets me back to my positivity.
If you are struggling with the Winter Blues, I hope that this list proves helpful! May you overcome your Winter Blues! You are not alone! I'm rooting for you!
