Apple Pie Recipe

The weather is getting colder and colder. One of my favorite things to do during the Winter season is baking! I'm always online looking for a new recipe. I thought it would be fun to share my favorite classic American desserts each week.
1.) Apple Pie
Apple pie is a classic American dessert. In fact, I think it's the most well known American dessert in the whole world. Apple pie can be found in the dessert menus of diners, cafes, and even some fast food places all around America! It's often eaten with a few scoops of vanilla ice cream on top or on the side. Doesn't that sound delicious?
To make an apple pie you'll need the following ingredients:
6 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 pinch salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup water
1 (15 ounce) package double crust ready-to-use pie crust
4 large red apples (thinly sliced without the apple's core)
All those ingredients should make about 8 servings.

Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: 50 minutes
Ready In: 2 hours 20 minutes
First, preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Next, melt butter in saucepan over medium heat. Stir in sugar, salt, cinnamon, and water. Then boil the syrup, stirring the mixture to dissolve the sugar, then remove from the heat. This should make a sweet caramel-like sauce.
Then unroll the pie crusts, press one into a pie dish (about 9-inches), and place the apples into the crust. Also unroll the second crust, and cut into about 8 1-inch wide strips. Put the strips criss-cross over the apples. Don't forget to crimp the bottom crust over the strips with your fingers. Next, gently spoon the sweet sauce over the pie, covering the portion of top crust; let remaining sauce drizzle through the crust.
Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and bake until the crust is a golden brown, the sweet sauce on the top crust is set, and the apple filling is bubbling, 35 to 40 more minutes. Lastly, allow the pie to cool completely before slicing it up to eat.
