I don't know about you, but I have heard that apparently there is a shortage of potatoes for the next few months. I don't know the details; I didn't even know until recently that Hokkaido is the main producer of potatoes in Japan until recently.
I'm actually not as shocked as I made it out to be. I mean, yeah, it is a surprise that there are fewertoducts of potatoes available, but I don't eat them so much, so it doesn't really bother me. My wife, on the other hand is going crazy about it (I'm exaggerating, of course). Though she doesn't actually eat them often, she really does like potato chips, as well as French fries (McDonald's in particular). She definitely was a bit down when we went to the store just recently, and we saw a big section in the potato chip aisle completely empty.
I doubt the shortage will be too long, but maybe you all should think about stocking up on potato chips, just in case? I know there are a few people already doing just that, hahaha.
