POP!s
From left to right: Castiel, Buffy, The Doctor, Elsa, Loki, Daneyrus, and Will Graham
As promised, here is the row of Funko Pop dolls that sit on my TV. When these dolls were first being sold, I avoided buying them to save my money for Japan. I also knew that because I enjoy starting collections (remember Sailor Saturn?) that I might want to get too many of them. But POP! dolls feature several characters from movie, tv, and comics and I don't feel like I have to have all of them. I just pick my favorite character.
Elsa and Will were the first ones that I bought. Those two and Castiel came with me to Japan. On one boring weekend in my apartment, I pulled out the fabric and made the kimono. It wasn't until I got The Doctor and fashioned his kimono out of starry fabric (very true to the character) that I REALLY started to get into it. I love an excuse to shop for Japanese fabric and it is so accessible to me since I am in Japan.
I feel a little silly, but people my age have several POP!s and all they do is put them out on a shelf. I enjoy the crafting aspect that makes them uniquely suited for the way my place is decorated. When I was in America I shopped around for more POP!s but I only went home with 2. They cost about $12 or 1400yen so I had to hold back and buy more important things.
The most recent is Iron Man, and I even painted his kimono to mimic the colors in Iron Man's metal suit. Check it out!

I've heard that now Sailor Moon POP!s have been coming out, and I can't wait to make a sparkly purple kimono for a Sailor Saturn!!
