Golden Week Osaka!
Hello!
As you may have read both in my last post, and in some of the other blog entries, I went to Osaka for Golden Week! It was my first time actually being there in the city (we flew into Osaka when we arrived in Japan, but being at the airport in the middle of the night doesn't really count), and it was a most beautiful city! Even just walking around was such a treat, the city is so bustling and alive no matter what time of day it was, and doubly so because it was Golden Week! We went to Namba and the shopping centres around that part of the city, and were surrounded almost immediately by thousands of people all shopping and enjoying the beautiful weather. I got to find some stores that sold Magic cards (and spent maybe a little too much on them!), and got to eat some truly delicious Osakan food, but my favourite parts of the trip were just the people watching. It was amazing to see that there were so many styles and fashions on display in Osaka. The idea of individual taste in clothing in Osaka is something that you need to see to believe. I was able to take a few photos, and I'll try to put them on the blog here to show just how packed the shopping centres were.
If you have not had the time or ability to visit Osaka, even for a short while, I would most certainly recommend it to anyone. I will most certainly be making my way back there at some point soon, and I'm already looking forward to it!
