Easter is Upon Us
With the Easter event rapidly approaching I wanted to tell all of you what Easter actually is and what many countries have turned it into. Originally Easter was a pagan holiday celebrating the goddess of fertility and idolatry Semirames who was a Queen of Babel. Easter then became a religious holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ after three days of being dead. Now Easter is a holiday with a bunny, the embodiment of fertility, hopping around hiding small surprise eggs for children. The meaning of holidays change so much over time. It's a wonder that the human memory is so long. I don't know much about Japanese holidays but I would like to know the oldest holiday and its origins. I need to do some research!
