Journey to Kyoto! Day 2 part 2
After visiting Kinkakuji, we decided to head to Arashiyama to see the monkeys. So we all jumped on a train and made our way there. As we started our way up the small mountain, I was skeptical of the degree in which we would see the monkeys. Initially I thought we would only be able to see them in the distance, and not very well at that. I was quite wrong, however. Not only are these monkeys close, they practically sit next to you (if they felt so inclined to).

I was astounded by how close they would get, though maybe shouldn't have been so surprised, since there was a small building where you can hand them little snacks like peanuts and fruit. So of course they would all gather there; free food! We all tried out feeding the monkeys, which we could only do inside the building (you weren't allowed to take the food outside, or feed the monkeys anything in general, lest they try to forcefully take it from you). It was fun, and many of them were little porkers, stuffing their faces and reaching in for more immediately after.

After feeding the monkeys, we made our way down, only to immediately see a little playground, which had a slide, seesaws, a swinging rope, and some bars. Of course, we all had to stop and play there for a while (even though it was mean for kids only, haha). We headed back after that, as we were tired and it was getting late. Another day gone by. Yet several more to have fun!
