ネイティブが教える英会話のジェムスクール☆Teachers☆

This past Sunday I went with my friend and her family to Shodoshima to take part in a 10km run. We had to wake up really early (4am!) so that we could catch the first ferry. The run started at 9:50am. There was also a half marathon (21km) and a full marathon (42km?) happening at the same time. There were a lot of people partcipating that day.

The run itself wasn't so bad. We were preparing for cold, maybe even rainy, weather. It was the exact opposite. It was beautiful out! Sunny, maybe even a bit too warm for some. I loved it. The path we ran was pretty level until we got to the middle, where we had to go uphill, then down. At the end of 5km, we had to turn around and run back the way we came, which meant going up and down again. My friend ended up burning out too soon, and so we ran the race at a slower pace. I was okay with that, as this was my first race. I just wanted to make sure we finished together. We ended up finishing with a time of 1hr and 7 min. It was a personal best for the both of us!

I definitely enjoyed that run. I even felt like continuing to run after we finished. I guess I can look forward to that when I do the half marathon in Marugame in February!
