In hopes of spring.
Is everyone else really hoping that spring comes soon, as much as I am I mean. It's been so cold, or I've become so sensitive to the changes, I'm not sure which. The idea that things will be nice and warm is really appealing to me right now. I guess my trip to Kerala, and the tropical weather there put me in the mood for more of it. I've discovered, or rather rediscovered southern India, the part that dates back to before the speakers of Hindi and its other offshoots came to dominate northern India. The south is very different, the climate much milder, the people more dynamic maybe. I really liked it a lot. Kerala boasts of almost total literacy, including women, in the 98% range. That's quite an accomplishment in a country where large swaths of the population are illiterate. I think Asia is so amazing, so rich in traditions, and so strong in many ways. I just hope the countries can start working together and building something like an Asian E.UI. Wouldn't that be great?
