Holiday Season
It's important to note the obvious, that is that these holidays mean different things to different people. Even in the States, not everyone is Christian of course, but that doesn't keep them from celebrating these days. But there are the Jewish people who celebrate Chanukah or Festival of Lights, some blacks who celebrate Kwanza, the Afro American holiday, as well as the many Asian Americans who may have more typically Buddhist, Hindu, or Muslim holidays. We like to think it doesn't really matter, that being free to celebrate whatever it is in our own way, we are all in the same festive mood, at least feeling some brotherly love for those around us for this time. It should be less a cause of contention than a chance to show that though we celebrate in different ways, we celebrate together all the same. It's that feeling of sharing that should be encouraged, don't you agree?
