Hiroshima Trip :)
This past weekend, I was able to do a little more exploring! Being new to Japan, I am eager to see and do everything this amazing place has to offer! Luckily, I have a friend living in Kure, near Hiroshima who invited me for a visit. We explored the city and enjoyed "green tea" lattes before eating dinner on a rooftop near the train station. I was able to spend some time in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial park and got to see the A-Bomb Dome (pictured here). I loved learning about history in school, so seeing such an iconic building left quite an impression on me. The dome holds special significance because it was the only building left partially standing closest to the hypocenter of the bomb dropped in August of 1945. Hiroshima is the biggest city in Japan I've been to so far, I am looking forward to seeing more places in the future! I would definitely recommend a trip to Hiroshima, even if history isn't your thing, the city offers a little something for everyone!
