Kecak is a form of Balinese dance that started in the 1930’s. It also goes by the name of Ramayana Monkey Chant and is primarily performed by men. The men form a circle and chant for almost the entire show. They are wearing black and white checked cloths tied around their waists. They use their arms a lot too for dramatic purposes. The monkey characters helped the good guys defeat the bad guys in the story. They also offer comic relief by going into the audience and sitting with them and harassing people. It was funny.
