Translating
I have a great Kanji book, all full of clear examples of the kanji in real situations. It's very systematic in it's showing clearly how the meanings vary so much according to context. The only problem is that all of the translations are inaccurate, they are so literal that they are quite misleading. But that shows how the best way to deal with language is in a context, judging from the situation, not from the word for word translation which can be so different in different situations. You can only translate ideas not words. What would you say in the same situation, that's what you need to see. When do you use the expression.
