Well, my first weeks in Japan were interesting. After only a few days I got sick. I all but lost my voice and coughed up some odd colored mucus. I went to the hospital where they prescribed 4 different antibiotics. I had an infection in my left big toe also and they gave me a cream. The antibiotics took care of the infection in my throat, but not my toe. I returned to the hospital where they put me on more antibiotics. A week later the infection was still there so they had to remove my toe nail. They gave me a local anesthetic so I could only feel tugging. A few hours later, the anesthetic wore off, however, and it throbbed! Ouch!!
