Tobe is a small city near the prefectural capital of Matsuyama in Ehime. The city has its own charm with plenty of pottery shops and a good number of soba shops.

I visited there recently and purchased some small pottery for my house, and stopped by a local soba shop. I ate delicious soba and learned that there is a dessert called sobagaki, where the soba flour is mixed in hot water, then heated until it becomes thick like a dough ball. This is dipped in soy sauce and can be eaten as a type of dessert. It was very tasty!
