Pumpkin Pie
Have you ever eaten pumpkin pie before? I think it's really delicious!

I have a great recipe for pumpkin pie. A lot of my students expressed a wish to know my recipe, so here it is!
To make a pumpkin pie, you need pumpkin puree. In America, you can buy pumpkin puree in cans, but I haven't seen that here in Japan. But you can roast a pumpkin to make pumpkin puree yourself. It's very easy. You can look up directions on the internet to find out how. Once the pumpkin has been roasted in the oven, you have to remove the skin, and then it's easy to mash the pumpkin up with a fork. Now you have pumpkin puree!
First you mix two eggs with about 425 grams of pumpkin puree and 150 grams of sugar. Add 0.5 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 0.5 teaspoon ginger, 0.25 teaspoon nutmeg, and 0.25 teaspoon cloves. Mix that very well. Next add one cup of milk and mix it all together. Pour the mixture into a pie crust. Bake it at 220 degrees for 15 minutes, then bake it at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. How do you tell if the pie is done? If you insert a knife into the center of the pie, the knife should come out clean.
