Luigi Pirandello
Luigi Pirandello is considered one the greatest
playwrights of the 20th century. His plays were
said to "turn psychological analysis into good
theater." His most famous play was "Six Chara
cters in Search of An Author." His works often
display a relativistic interpretation of reality. Some have conjectured that he was motivated by his
wife Antonietta's descent into mental illness. He
was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1934.
