Holding on to Fall

In Japan, the Christmas decorations popped up too quickly. I've said before that I don't like see Christmas things in November. I started to search my feelings about why.
In America, Thanksgiving is the holiday that comes after Halloween. I've been in Japan long enough to not really miss Thanksgiving though. So that's not why.
It's not that I dislike Christmas. In Michigan, Christmas comes when it's cold and (sometimes) snowy. It's part of the magic of Christmas. Then it is over, and the winter remains for 3 more months. It's gray and cold and there isn't anything to be excited for.
I figured it out. I don't want to rush into Christmas and winter. I want to hold on to Fall as long as I can. I want one more month of leaves and cute sweaters. I want one more month cool crisp weather. I don't want to see Christmas and feel that Fall is gone too soon.
