Hello,

My name is Mark. I live in Baltimore, USA with my family. I teach English online for GEM School Cyber classes.

I used to live in Japan, mostly in Kanonji, Kagawa. I was a teacher at GEM School from 2006-2008 and again from 2011-2012. My family is planning a vacation to Japan, maybe in 2025.

My wife, Stephanie, is a librarian. She works in Annapolis. Every day I drive her to and from work, because the train system here is not very good. We listen to audiobooks during our commute.

During the day, I am the main homemaker. We have three children: Emma (9), Kaylee (6), and Sam (4). They are on summer vacation from school, so I take them with me to the supermarket. Emma and Kaylee will start school in September, but it will be online school from home, so our routine will not change much.

Because of the time zone difference between Maryland and Japan, when I teach it is late at night or very early in the morning.

My hobbies are cooking, reading about history, learning languages, and tabletop role-playing games.

I look forward to blogging in this community. I am still thinking about the best things to write. I can write about my children, life in America, recipes, or something else. I welcome your questions and feedback.
