One of the favorite weekend pastimes for my older students is, of course, video games. Mario is a favorite. However, when I tell them that I would see "Mario and the gang" on their Karts driving all over Tokyo when I lived there, I get a look of total disbelief. So I am posting this picture I took when I was walking over the "Rainbow Bridge"! I am not a "gamer" but I was "there" when Mario and Pikachu were "born", and I fell in love with the characters from their beginning!

So, if you love them too, and want to have some "fun" cosplay, and happen to be in Tokyo, there are several rental companies that will help you out! Using custom-built go-karts, they offer you the opportunity to drive through the city like an unofficial game character! My regret- that I didn't do it then....but I'll be back, Tokyo, for a visit!!
