Last weekend was Saijo's matsuri, and my first ever! From beginning to end, it rained. Luckily I love the rain.

The first night I went to Isono Shrine to watch the Danjiri arrive. It was nearly four in the morning before I headed home. Then, on Monday, I went to Saijo High School and watched them cross the bridge. Despite the rain and the early start time, there was a good amount of people. Finally, that evening, I went to the river crossing.

It was a very long and tiring weekend, but I had fun. As a bonus I got to see a few of my students outside of class, which is a somewhat rare treat.
