Peace and eats

Peace and eats

I present to you two more of my lovely little ones. These two kids have recently become some of my weekly students, as I have been moving around quite a bit (having an international driving permit). These two have made great strides since starting with me. Their progress can be measured by how much more talkative they have become. I think that one obstacle students must overcome as soon as possible is shyness. I believe that knowledge is part muscular, and so involves muscle memory. In learning anything we have to use our bodies, and in English this means our mouths. We have to become acquainted with the shape of words. When kids talk more they are programming English into their bodies. The girl on the left is a great point in case. At first she was a bit shy, a bit quiet, but now she is one of the most talkative and quickest in class! I just love teaching her class! The boy, too, is in her class. This particular boy is also a bundle of joy, a blast in fact. Somehow he’s adopted the habit of stating everything as a question. All his answers are said as if they were question, with the rising intonation at the end. In fact, his answer-questions come replete with the head tilt typical of question asking. I wonder where he got that habit from. But at least he is speaking English!
