Philly cheese steaks!
Recently we had an event at the schools, and for a portion of my event I decided to make Philly cheese steaks with everyone!
What is a Philly cheese steak? I'm glad you asked! It is a sandwich made with thinly sliced pieces of beefsteak and melted cheese in a long hoagie roll (a long flat roll, kind of looks like a baguette). Of course, this is the simplest version of the sandwich; you can always add things to it, such as vegetables and sauces (like hot sauce).
The philly cheese steak originated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the USA. That is where it gets its name from; Philly is short for Philadelphia. It is a very popular dish, with many restaurants making their own versions both in Philadelphia, as well as cities around it. I believe that other states also try to recreate it, although it is not at the same level (at the very least, I distinctly remember disliking Philly Cheesesteaks because it didn't taste so great).
I highly recommend trying it out! If you want me to make it for you, all you have to do is ask; just keep in mind that I am an amateur. The event was the first time I attempted it!
