My First Memory of GEM
Hello!
So, today, I want to talk about one of my first memories of coming here to GEM School. I arrived here two days before my birthday on the 16th of of February, 2015. The first two days were a mix of unpacking, cleaning, and being so sleepy I thought I would fall over. Our first day of training, one of the people I was training with, Baker, said he wanted me to come with him to another teacher's apartment after work to figure out some paperwork and other official things.
To my surprise, there was no paperwork, but there was a small surprise party for my birthday! I hadn't told anyone, I wasn't expecting anything, but there they were, singing me Happy Birthday. It was so nice and thoughtful, I've never forgotten it. They all showed me the kind of family unit GEM school could be, and I've been trying to achieve that with our teachers and staff ever since.
