I don't know about you, but in general I don't talk about myself so much. That's not to say that I don't ever do it, and there are times when I have a lot to say, but for the most part I keep a lot to myself. I definitely don't volunteer the information either; usually someone will have to ask me the right questions to get certain information from me.
I think one of the reasons is that, unless people are interested in what I have to say, there is no reason I need to try to say anything. Of course, this is not all of the time, but I definitely feel it often. What's more, I notice that people tend to not be interested in what I have to say; they are just looking for someone to talk to about themselves, whether it be their problems, something good that happened to them, and so on. So more often than not, it becomes more of a monologue, rather than a conversation.
Like I said, it is not always that way, and that is not the only reason. Sometimes I feel it is too bothersome to mention anything about myself, especially if I have to fight for your attention to say it. Of course, I also sometimes feel like it is too bothersome to talk about myself just because I don't know what to talk about, hahaha.
