My New Favorite Fruit

Yesterday I was shopping a Harlows and I decided I wanted to but some nice, healthy fruit. While I was looking at the fruit I came across some citrus fruit that looked like tiny oranges. I was a bit confused until I realized they were kinkan! I've had dried, candied kinkan before as a treat and I really enjoy them so I decided to try them fresh.
After a bit of research I discovered that in English they're called a kumquat. I've heard of kumquats before, but I never actually knew what they were. I was kind of entertained to find out that I've been eating them for a while without knowing it.
I tried the kumquats last night and I absolutely love them! I don't usually like citrus fruits very much but for some reason kumquats are the exception. They're sweet and tart and they taste really fresh and "awake". I think I'll be eating kumquats for as long as they're in season!

When was the last time you were pleasantly surprised by a new food?

Flowers and Watercolor

I recently found a fantastic art shop. I felt like a kid at Christmas walking around inside. I bought some new little things to create art with different mediums.
I recently finished a mixed media piece that is watercolor and real dry pressed flowers. I have been pressing the flowers in a large book since November! It turned out cute over all. I will give it to my friend for her new baby.

In Search Of Adventure

I love to wander around my environment. It's a great way to find new places and meet interesting people. I went to Ryuozan Park in Aji. It was beautiful. The park was well maintained and had many high points to look out from. You could see Takamatsu below and far off into the distance. It was a clear day when I was there. I also found many beautiful sculptures, made with Aji stone. It was a great experience.
