Limestone caves in Kochi!
Yesterday I went to the limestone cave system at Ryougado in kochi!

It was really intense! Some of the spaces were really tight and small. I am not a small man, so in some places I found myself crawling for a few feet on wet stones. It was cool and wet in the caverns, and there were tons of stairs and tight passages. What a good workout!
And the visual rewards were stunning too. Some of the chambers reached up far over my head, disappearing into blackness. There were some places where evidence of ancient human life had been found, including quite a bit of pottery and a few fire pits. There were likely people living in those caves as far back as 2000 years ago!
