As some of you may know, I went back to Canada to visit my family at the start of February. It wasn't a very long visit, but it was definitely worth it to see my family. I started my visit in Regina, Saskatchewan where I spent some time visiting my dad's family.
I spent a lot of time catching up with my dad, and the pets! my step-mother was working, and my step-brother had to go to school, so I didn't get to see them very much. My step-sister came by for a short visit, which was nice. We weren't sure if she would be able to visit or not. We spent a lot of time just chatting or playing games together, and of course eating some of my favourite foods! After a few days of that, we drove to Brandon. Manitoba to visit my grandmother and great-aunt. It was wonderful to see them, but we only had a few hours together. I then went to spend a few days with my mom!

My mom and brother were really excited to see me, and the day after I arrived we had a giant family lunch with all of my cousins, my aunt, uncle, and grandmother! Everyone asked me so many questions about my life here in Japan, and about my students too! It was wonderful to share my favourite memories of the last year with them. That same day I went to meet some of my friends. They welcomed my home with a prank (a prank is a physical joke, like giving someone salt for their coffee instead of sugar!). They opened a bag of Ketchup chips (a Canadian potao chip flavour), and replaced all the yummy ketchup chips with plain, salt potato chips and a small bag of ketchup. I was a little upset with them, but I forgave them pretty quickly! The rest of my visit was very relaxing, I just spent some time laying around the house with my cat on my lap, and chatting with my mom and brother.

I think it was more difficult to leave my family this time than when I came to Japan last year. I was very happy to have seen them, and I am very happy to be back! I cannot wait to see what sort of adventures we all experience together!
