Look don't Eat
These things are really great to eat. I know they are flowers but it's odd to see them in gardens like this. Boil or steam them. You pull off the leaves and then scrap the flesh of it under your teeth. A lot of people dip it in butter or some cream dip before eating.
At the center is the "heart". Artichoke hearts are the best. Really expensive sometimes. Didn't think I was missing the taste until I saw them in the garden!
