Hello Everybody, I got to celebrate my birthday on the weekend! It started off with my wife and I renting bikes and riding around town. I haven't rode a bike in years! I felt like a kid again! Plus the weather was perfect. The sun was out and there was a nice breeze. While riding our rental bikes, my wife and I decided to stop at a music and games store. There my wife bought me a miniature Super Famicon and CDs as presents. I was excited and felt spoiled by the purchases.

After leaving the store I started to get hungry. I've been craving sushi for a couple of days now. So we went to a nice restaurant while on the way to return our rental bikes. The food there was fresh and delicious! It would arrive to us on a conveyor belt. I tried lots of different types of sushi! I was so full on sushi that I didn't even order dessert. Haha!

After I satisfied my cravings, we quickly rode to the rental shop and returned our bicycles. Since the rental shop was near our apartment, we walked home and took in the good weather. Upon arriving home, we quickly fell asleep on the sofa watching Netflix. All in all, I had a wonderful and relaxing birthday! What made it even more special was that it was my first birthday in Japan! I see living and teaching in Japan as an early birthday gift. Overall, I am one happy birthday boy!

  

One of my favorite memories from University was of a guys winter retreat I took my second year of University. Throughout the event we did a lot of fun snow activities. We had a giant snow wrestling tournament, we rode a toboggan (sled) down tracks on to the frozen lake, and my favorite: we jumped inner tubes. There were some small sledding hills to the side of the area we were staying at, so we made some jumps and had everyone go down. You would get pretty good air on the jump and the only thing to soften the impact was the inner tube you were riding on. I made a lot of good friends at that retreat, and will likely always look back on it fondly.
