Learning to cook in an old school way
So I'm a decent cook, but I want to get better. One of my favorite things to cook is an omelet. I've been using a French technique on and off for a few years.
One of my favorite ways to learn about cooking is through television shows. There have been lots of good shows over the years, but the original has to be "The French Chef" with Julia Child. It began running in 1963, and Child went on to have a cooking show on TV every year until she died in 2004. She is known for her relaxed presentation style, her unique voice, and her skill. She makes even difficult of¥r complex French recipes seem relatively easy, and shows how even mistakes can be beneficial to the final product. Here's a video of her making a French style "omelette" in pretty much the same way I do. :)
