Finding a Japanese Cafe/ Figuring out Japanese Menus
Kristen and I have found a new cafe in our area and we've been going there regularly for a few weeks now. We usually order the same thing every time - Iced coffee. This weekend, however, we decided to try their pizza toast, and we weren't disappointed.

Deciphering Japanese menus can be a little intimidating for me. As I've stated before, I'm no good with Japanese writing (though I am getting better!) so understanding exactly what I'm ordering can be a challenge. Usually I just point and say "hitotsu" and that works. I'm not a picky eater, so I've never really been let down by this method.
However, there are some situations where "point and hitotsu" won't work. This is the menu of a local soba chain in our mall. I really want to try it! But I'm afraid that I can't read Japanese well enough to order correctly. Kristen and I helped each other out by looking at this picture and looking up the characters in a dictionary, then translating the words. I knwo what I woudl liek to try now, so I'll be ready next time I go to the mall!
