I love Awaodori. I like the smiling faces of all the people in the crowd. I like the energy of the dancers and the musicians. I like the pulsing beat of the drums that I can feel in my chest. I like the street food and beers. I like the heat. I like the colorful costumes. I like the chanting. I like the relaxed atmosphere. I like to see hard working Japanese people finally let loose and enjoy themselves. I like sitting by the river and watching all the happy people. I like the spirit of hospitality. I like the pride people take in their own culture. Thank you Japan for sharing this wonderful event with everyone. I've been lucky enough to enjoy it 3 years in a row. Simply the best.
