WizzyWigs

A store appeared in my university town at the start of the anime boom. It was called Wizzywigs. It was a large store for anime goods, Japanese candy and drinks, T-shirts, bags, and music. The store was colorful and played anime on big TVs while you shopped. They made and gave away a mixed CD that introduced me to Hyde, Tommy February/Heavenly, Chemistry, and T.M. Revolution. I have good memories of going in there. My friends and I tried ramune candy and spent a lot of money there! In 2007 they left their spot on main street and we were quite sad. A lot of stores were doing better online, but I think that it was a bad idea.
I don't know if WIzzywigs is still in business, but a lot of old stores on that street are leaving. It's sad. Even the most expensive and weird stores have their charms. Local business is so important but we fear it's lost in America.
