Believing in Magic

Recently I have been re-watching the Harry Potter Movies in preparation of reading the actual books and a thought struck me. Why do adults stop believing in magic? When we are children our imaginations can conjure up monsters and friends, magical forests or cities from the distant past. Around what age were you when you last let your imagination run away with you? Can you remember? Why did you stop believing? I think society has conditioned us to 'grow up' when we hit puberty and to stop believing in fanciful things. It is curious though that we see children as the most pure and wondrous thing in our world and yet we demand that they turn into us instead of the other way around. I think this world may be a more amazing place if we would stop limiting our minds and making new rules every day about what we should do and simply let our minds explore and create!

Rain rain, go away!

Hello!

So, as anyone in Kagawa can tell you, we are in the rainy season here in Japan! During the last few weeks, there have been only one or two days that are actually sunny, and the rest have been overcast at best, and thunderstorms at worst! In addition, it's been very humid here as well, so not only do you get wet when you go outside, but because of the humidity, there's no chance to dry off when you go inside either! It's been a struggle keeping my cheery disposition when faced with this kind of weather, as I'm very much affected by the environment I'm in, but I'm excited and lookin forward to the warmer summer months coming up, and hopefully they'll be a little dryer as well!
