Journey to Kyoto! Day 5
Day 5 I have trouble remembering the contents of the day, or rather, nothing really sticks out until what happens that night.
We started off our day with a relatively light breakfast (french toast for them, scrambled eggs for me). And we make our way out for more sight-seeing. We first head back to the shopping district, where I pick myself up a set of nice new shoes (I really needed them. My other pairs are beginning to wear out!). I actually also picked myself up a pair of earrings. For those of you who don't know, I have had my ears pierced in the past. I even used to wear kind of big/thick earrings, but stopped wearing them almost two years ago. As a result, the holes in my ears have gotten smaller. I don't want them to close up completely, so I decided to start wearing earrings again,
Anyway, after our little shopping spree, we set out to look at more temples. We also revisited the Fushimi Inari area, checking out different areas we didn't see before. By this time, I had stopped taking pictures (it was cold, and it is also annoying and tiring to use a tablet as a camera). Fortunately, my friend kept taking pictures with his camera, though I don't have access to all of the images. I do have this nice one that he took at one of the temples that day. Unfortunately, I can't recall the name of the place we were at. I think I was getting tired by then (sight-seeing is quite exhausting, in my opinion). Anyway, the place we were at had a little bamboo forest. It was really cool to see.

As night started to approach, we had this brilliant idea to check out a cat cafe. That is, a little shop you can go to and have fun playing with cats. How cool is that! We spent an hour there playing, petting, and just watching cats while sipping tea and nibbling on snacks. I would go do it again if I could. After all the cuddles with the adorable cats, we decided to eat dinner at a restaurant not too far from the cafe (mostly because it was cold, and we didn't want to wander around searching for a place). The restaurant was really nice, with a great atmosphere. As it so happens, one of us had the funds to treat the rest to dinner, as a way of saying thanks. The sky was the limit , as it were. The problem was, we ended up getting full too quickly (somehow) but the dishes kept coming and coming. One made the mistake of ordering way too many dishes before consulting with the rest to see if we would be able to eat it all. We managed to get through it, but our bellies were sure to burst at any moment. All three of us were miserable, what with the amount of food we forced into ourselves (we didn't want to waste any of it). I'm pretty sure I almost passed out at one point. Either way, it made for an unforgettable night!
