Fun facts about Halloween: Pumpkins

Obviously, many people know that pumpkins have been associated with Halloween. I'm here to tell you a couple of interesting facts that you may not know about.
First up is the biggest pumpkin ever grown. I'm sure you have seen many pumpkins, and some of them pretty big. But there are people who compete to grow the biggest pumpkin in the world. As for why, well, probably for the sake of competition. The record in North America came about in 2016, in the small state of Rhode Island. There, a man grew a pumpkin to a monstrous weight of 2261.5 lbs (1025.8 kg), about the weight of a sports car! Don't you think that's crazy! I wonder how they moved it around.
The second interesting fact involves a practice that is common for Halloween: pumpkin carving. I don't know about you, but I'm not great at it, plus it takes me a long time to cut out one piece, let alone a whole goofy face. But this guy in New York, whose name is Stephen Clarke, is able to carve a pumpkin in 16.47 seconds! He did this on Halloween of 2013. He gave the pumpkin a complete face, meaning eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. I wonder how much he practiced in order to get that fast? I think if I tried, I would just cut myself, haha.
