The Cute Little Place Down The Way
Hello!
There's a little place near my apartment that I've recently been going to that I really enjoy! It's a small bakery / restaurant / cafe that sells baked goods and set lunches for a crazy reasonable price. It's called Asumi, which I've learned translates roughly to "safe space". It's operated by a number of people with physical and mental disabilities, and I believe is run as a charitable business, which lets them charge the really amazing prices they do. I went for lunch one day that was a three course lunch (appetizer, main, and dessert) for well under 1000 yen.
The only difficult thing I've found about Asumi are it's hours. Because it's a bakery / cafe, they open quite early in the morning, and close quite early in the afternoon, so being able to get there is sometimes tricky, but I've never regretted it when I go, and everyone is so lovely and welcoming, it's a great place to pick up lunch or treats for the day.
